ヤマハとヒーローモーターズが協力してホイールドライブ市場に参入

外国メディアの報道によると、ヤマハ発動機とヒーローモーターズは、電動自転車用のホイールドライブを製造する合弁会社を設立するために250万ユーロ（290万米ドル）を投資する予定です。 協力は11月末に正式に確立され、ヒーローは株式の90％を保有します。

Hero Motors owns Hero Cycles, India's largest bicycle manufacturer. The unnamed company will be located in the Ludhiana district of Punjab, India.

According to Yamaha's announcement, wheel hub drives account for about half of the European electric bicycle market. The company said that as demand for these drive units is expected to increase, Yamaha seeks to reach an agreement with Hero to expand its product portfolio beyond mid-drive motors. Yamaha currently offers proprietary central-mounted drive units.
